So wait a minute, back up…how does this whole Dock thing work?
Dock is the simple, fast way for you to list a parking spot you own and RENT IT OUT to parkers who need it, when they need it. You make passive income putting that empty space to work. (Whatta concept!) And if you ever need to FIND & RESERVE a spot for yourself (face it, it happens all the time) Dock’s the super-easy way to do that, on the go, in a few taps.
Dock is a win-win situation that saves you time & money, makes your life easier, and frees up space for smarter urban planning.
Years ago, Joni Mitchell famously sang “They paved over paradise and put up a parking lot.” At Dock, we’re reversing that trend with your help. Join us!
Listing & Renting Out Your Spot
How and when do I get paid? Start by setting up a Venmo account. If you have one already, great. If not, get the free Venmo app on your smartphone and set up an account in seconds. With your Venmo account connected in Dock, you’ll get paid within three biz days of a parker using your spot.
What if a parker doesn’t move their car in time? Our community is filled with nice, respectful parkers and owners. Nobody is looking to overstay their welcome. In the rare cases when life strikes and a parker can’t move on time, you as the spot owner receive $25 for the inconvenience. And you have the option to have the car towed at the parker’s expense. At Dock, we make this very clear to parkers. They want their car moved out on-time as much as you do, probably more. 😉
Why can’t I charge whatever I want? We want to get you the most moolah for your spot. Our algorithms work non-stop to determine industry averages in your neighborhood and adjust accordingly to make sure your spot is priced to maximize your income potential.
Can I pre-program ongoing availability? Yes – it’s easy to do so and in many cases makes a lot of sense. Dock’s personal parking assistant makes it easy to open and close your spot at will.
What if I suddenly need to close my spot?
IF you are an owner and you request to close your spot before the time you allocated to leave it open AND there is a parker already in the spot. You must wait until they check out, but we will send them a notification that you are coming back early. etc.
Reserving a Spot
How do I find a spot to park in? Need a spot? Dock’s personal parking assistant is your new best friend. Tell it where you are or where you’re heading, and it’ll show you some fantastic options, instantly. You’ll see the distance, price, and availability. Tap the spot you like and use the route guidance to head on over. The spot will be taken off the market as soon as you reserve it, just make sure to check out when your done!
When do I pay? If you’ve already set up payment, you’ll be charged upon checking out, which happens when you hit the checkout button and leave the spot. If this is your first time using Dock, you’ll need to add your payment method during your first reservation.
What if I can’t get back to my car in time? The good news is Dock does not require you to pre-determine how long you’ll be in a spot. But, each listing has an end time that you need to stick to. Be sure to check out before the end time., We’ll send you reminders to help you keep track of time. Spot owners could have you towed if you overstay. That said, if an emergency prevents you from moving your car on time, EMAIL US. No guarantees, but we’ll do what we can to help you avoid getting towed. Overstays are fined $30, and if you rack up a few of those, your account could potentially get frozen. We want to keep Dock fun & breezy for everyone, and constant overstays don’t go well with that vision.
How do I claim a refund? Easy! Send a refund request to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll review it and get back to you via email within 24 business hours.
